China’s Maanshan Iron and Steel has delivered its first batch of 1,500mt of heavy-duty H-beam. Maanshan Steel’s heavy-duty H-beam production plant started operations in April and dispatched its first order, according to China Metallurgical News. 

 

Very few steel manufacturers including ArcelorMittal, Nucore Yamata, Teesside are engaged in the production of H-beam steel. H-beam steel is used for the construction of bridges, railway, buildings, cranes, truck trailers. With this dispatch, China’s Maanshan Steel has entered this market segment. 

 

Maanshan Steel’s heavy H-beam plant has an annual production capacity of 800,000mt. The company is a subsidiary of China’s Baowu Group and is a pioneer in the development of H-beam in China.
