Chinese auto manufacturer Chery group’s vehicle sales in April 2021 stood at 76,775 units, up by 91.6pc as compared to the same month in 2020, as per local media reports.

 

The company’s brand Chery Automobile’s auto sales in April grew by 117.2pc to 53,680 units from the prior year, while its brand Jetour’s auto sales stood at 10,399 units, up by 80.5pc as compared to April 2020.

 

The company’s Cowin brand sold 1,477 units in April, registering a growth of 44.7pc from the year before, while Chery Holding’s new energy vehicle (NEV) sales in April 2021 rose by 214.6pc to 8,572 units as compared to the same month in the preceding year.

 

Cumulative sales for 2021

In the first four months of the year (Jan-April, 2021), the group’s cumulative auto sales grew by 91.6pc to 282,000 units from the prior-year period.

 

Exports

The company’s auto exports in April stood at 22,034 units, up by 312.5pc from the same month the year before.

In the Jan-April period, the company’s auto exports increased by 137pc to 75,475 units as compared to the same period in 2020.

The company informed that it expects its auto exports to exceed 200,000 units by the end of 2021.
