Chinese auto manufacturer FAW Group’s premium car brand Hongqi’s auto sales in the first four months of the year (Jan-April, 2021) stood at 91,900 units, up by 132pc as compared to the prior-year period, according to local media reports citing a statement by the company.

The company has achieved 23pc of its annual auto sales target by April. It aims to double its 2020 sales to 400,000 units in 2021.

The automaker has not released the sales volume for just April.

It will roll out several high-end new models, including new energy vehicles (NEVs), in the coming months that is expected to boost auto sales even further during the year. 

In 2020, the brand had achieved its sales target of 200,000 units despite the decline in auto markets globally due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
