Chinese car manufacturer GAC Group is aiming to increase sales by 10pc in 2021 by rolling out two new models and upgrading many existing models under its self-owned brands, according to media reports citing the company’s operational plan.

 

The company’s total annual production is expected to reach 2.026mn units, down by 0.1pc from the previous year, while its sales in 2020 are projected to decline by 0.8pc to 2.044mn units from the preceding year.

 

The company is expecting auto sales to reach 210,000 units in December.

 

In the first eleven months of the year (Jan-Nov, 2020), the automaker’s sales stood at 1.8mn units, down by 2.21pc from the prior-year period.

 

The company has two self-owned brands – Trumpchi and GAC Aion. GAC Group is going to release the Trumpchi EMPOW55 fuel sedan and the Aion Y electric SUV to boost sales in 2021, as per local media reports.
