Colombia’s iron ore and steel exports increased by 8.6pc to 16,230mt in July from 14,944mt a year earlier, according to figures released by Colombia’s National Administrative Department of Statistics (Dane).
However, the value of these exports fell by 29.6pc to $35,820 from $50,878 in July 2019. Colombian copper exports rose by 4.5pc to 3,469mt in July from 3,320mt a year earlier, and their value rose by 1.5pc to $16,588 from $16,344.
Aluminum shipments also increased by 9.7pc to 6,836mt in July from 6,234mt in July 2019, and their value rose near commensurately by 9.9pc to $28,381 from $25,835.
Ferronickel exports declined by 8.5pc to 9,731mt from 10,639mt in July 2019, and their value decreased by 24.1pc to $28,869 from $38,058.
Colombia’s crude steel output declined by 30.5pc to 85,000mt in July from 122,000mt during the same month in 2019, according to the latest figures released by the World Steel Association (worldsteel).
