Colombia’s Asesco plans to launch three products in 2020 and add an additional nine to expand its steel catalog by 12 more products within three years. The company did not disclose details of the new product selections but noted that they would be complementary to its present portfolion with strong growth potential in structural design, which could double sales volumes within three years. 


In 2019, Asesco sold 220,000mt of metals which reflected approximately $200mn in sales. After two years of low construction demand in Colombia, the Asesco management plans on 7-10pc growth in 2020. In 2020, Asesco estimates an additional 15,000-22,000mt of metals will be sold throughout its various divisions with zinc flat roofing sales growing. Within the product assortment, tubes comprised 25pc, galvanized flats 20pc, zinc flats 15pc, and the remaining 40pc is categorized as architectural metal products which includes profiles and other products. 


Asesco presently operates in Colombia, Ecuador, Panama, Costa Rica, Dominican Republicand Puerto Rico. Central America is serviced by its Costa Rica division.
