Colombia’s iron ore and steel exports declined by 49.3pc to 10,476mt in January from 20,670mt shipped in the same month the prior year, according to data by Colombia’s National Administrative Department of Statistics (Dane).

 

However, exports of copper and related products rose by 8.2pc to 3,335mt in January from 3,082mt a year ago. Shipments of aluminum and its products also increased by 38.7pc to 6,689mt in January from 4,824mt in the prior year period.

 

Shipments of lead and lead products declined by 32.9pc to 243mt in January, from 363mt exported in January of 2019 and exports of ferronickel fell by 18.1pc to 8,224mt from 10,129mt during the same period.

 

The South American country also saw a drop in its car and automotive accessories shipments by 53.8pc to 1,545mt in January, from 3,342mt shipped in the same month of 2019.
