Colombia’s iron ore and steel exports declined by 17.7pc to 171,780mt in 2020, from 207,209mt shipped in the prior year, according to the National Administrative Department of Statistics (Dane).
In December 2020, iron ore and steel exports went down by 44.9pc to 15,270mt, from 27,696mt in the same month of the previous year, Dane indicated in its latest report.
Exports of copper and copper products fell by 19pc to 30,353mt in 2020, from 37,472mt in 2019. Aluminum shipments declined by 9.1pc to 70,728mt from 77,798mt and lead exports rose by 27.1pc to 3,594mt from 2,827mt during the same period under comparison.
Colombia’s ferronickel exports fell by 10.3pc to 124,755mt in 2020, from 139,220mt in the prior year, Dane noted. The South American country’s car and automotive accessories shipments also decreased by 45.9pc to 39,747mt in 2020, from 73,434mt shipped in 2019.
Colombia’s crude steel output fell by 15.5pc to 1.12mn mt in 2020, from 1.33mn mt in 2019, according to the latest figures released by the World Steel Association.
