Australia-headquartered Consolidated Zinc expects its June production to be lower than May.
In May, the company processed 3,958mt of ore through Plomosas and Aldama plants. Zinc and lead concentrate produced were 719mt and 184mt, respectively, in May. Consolidated Zinc plans to continue processing through both the plants until ore stockpiles deplete.
Plomosas Plant can process 4,500mt per month and has sustained the target. The plant, however, faced issues regarding some refurbished equipment which has reduced its availability in June, says the company. The company, therefore, states that production in June might be lower than in May owing to the time required to fix the issues.
With the modifications made during the downtime production will expand with improvement in plant availability and utilization in the second half of 2021, notes Brad Marwood, Managing Director of Consolidated Zinc.
