French aluminum manufacturer Constellium shipped out 791,000mt of aluminum products in H1 2021, up 12pc from 703,000mt in H1 2020. In the second quarter of 2021, shipments rose 31pc to 406,000mt from 320,000mt in the prior-year period. 

 

According to its half-yearly earnings report, Constellium expects an adjusted EBITDA of €545-560mn ($648-665mn) in the full calendar year 2021. However, yearly revenue appears uncertain due to unforeseen circumstances caused by the pandemic. 

 

The company’s Packaging and Automotive rolled products division saw a 12pc increase in H1 shipments to 551,000mt while Q2 shipments jumped 29pc to 284,000mt over the year-ago quarter. The Aero and Transportation division reported a 3pc decline in H1 2021 shipments to 101,000mt while Q2 shipments increased 16pc to 53,000mt annually. The Automotive Structures and Industry saw a 27pc surge in deliveries in H1 2021 to 139,000mt from last year while Q2 2021 deliveries rose to 69,000mt, up 56pc from Q2 2020. 

 

Constellium’s revenue in the first six months increased 16pc to €2.8mn from €2.46mn in the same period of 2020. Net income surged to €156mn, compared with a net loss of €63mn in H2 2020.
