Construction production in June dropped by 5.9pc in the Euro area and by 5.8pc in the EU from the same month a year ago, according to a Eurostat report.
However, production in the construction sector in June increased by 4pc in the Euro area and by 2.9pc in the EU from a month earlier, mainly because COVID-19 lockdown measures across Europe eased that month.
Building construction in the Euro area in June fell by 6.6pc from the same month in 2019, while it increased by 4.5pc on a monthly basis. In the EU, building construction decreased by 6.2pc in June from a year earlier, but rose by 3.2pc from the month before.
