Germany reported a 11pc turnover in the main construction industry in June this year compared to the same month in 2019, according to Federal Statistical Office of Germany (Destatis). The number of workers in the construction industry also rose by 1.3pc in June compared to June last year.
Destatis also reported on car density in Germany. From the period of 2009 to 2019 the German car density rose by 12pc. Which means from an average of 509 cars per 1000 inhabitants it increased to 569 cars per 1000 inhabitants.
This led to a 14pc growth in the total number of cars sold from 41.3mn units to around 47.1mn units in the same ten year window.
