UPG Enterprises’ Contractors Steel acquired Los Angeles-based steel distributor Borrmann Metal Center.

 

Steve Letnich, chief operating officer of Contractors Steel, said the acquisition expanded the company’s footprint into the West Coast, Southwest, and Mexican markets. The acquisition also complimented Contractors Steel Phoenix, Arizona facility. The companies will create a single network of logistics and inventories to serve the region. 

 

Contractors Steel is a light structural and specialty steel service center based in Chicago. The company was acquired by UPG Enterprises in May 2018. UPG operates diverse assets in the metals, distribution, and logistics sector with about 25 locations in North America. Borrman was founded in 1919 and operates two warehouse locations. The value of the acquisition and volumes transacted annually were not disclosed.
