Aluminum packaging producer Crown Holdings plans to build a new plant in Henry County, Virginia to produce aluminum beverage cans.

In a news release dated Jan 28, Timothy J Donahue, president and chief executive officer at Crown, said that the investment will support the increased demand for beverage cans in the US. The plant’s location will strengthen the company’s supply network across North America, especially in the Midwest.

The new plant will cover an area of 355,000 sq feet and create 126 new jobs. Crown expects to commission the plant by Q2 2022. The company did not disclose the planned output of the factory. Notably, this is the producer’s third such investment in North America in the past five years.
