Taiwanese steelmaker CSC’s steel sales fell by 7.36pc in July to 800,114mt from the prior year period. Wet weather and a resurgence of COVID-19 pandemic has impacted steel demand in the country. Sales also declined from June’s total of 806,081mt.
Sales in the Jan-July period stood at 5.72mn mt, down from 5.91mn mt in the prior-year period.
Consolidated operating revenues in Jan-June stood at TWD255.15mn, up by 46pc from the prior-year period. In July, consolidated operating income stood at TWD8.16mn, up by 4pc from June.The company attributes the rise to its cost saving efforts.
