Western Copper and Gold announced an increase of measured mineral resources at its Casino mine in Yukon, Canada.

 

According to the new estimates, mineral composition in the mine are 2.2bn mt of oxides, with 0.74pc copper equivalent in the reserves found during exploration, the Canadian miner said in a release on Wednesday. This includes an estimated 3.3mn mt of copper ore and 76,000mt of contained concentrate copper. 

 

The estimate also includes 400mt of silver concentrate, according to measured mineral reserves from the heap leach declared on July 3, 2020.

 

Paul West-Sells, the company’s president, said that the 2019 drilling exceeded expectations by doubling the measure and indicated mill resource.
