The Czech Republic’s aluminum scrap exports increased by 21.6pc to 25,230mt in the first four months of 2021 from 20,754mt in the same prior-year period, according to the country’s Customs data. Copper scrap exports increased by 37pc to 22,716mt from 16,578mt within the same timeframe.
Aluminum scrap exports from the Czech Republic increased by 71pc in April to 6,4289mt from 3,756mt in the same month last year, according to the country’s Customs data. However, exports decreased by 10pc from 7,111mt in the previous month.
Germany remains the country’s largest aluminum scrap importer, recording a 63pc increase in April to 1,773mt from 1,087mt in the same month of the previous year. Turkey joined the Czech Republic’s list of aluminum importers in April after importing 96mt of scrap.
France’s aluminum scrap import volumes increased by 1090pc to 272mt in April from 23mt in April 2020 while Slovenia’s declined by 19pc to 402mt from 500mt within the same period.
Copper
The Czech Republic’s copper scrap exports also increased by 44pc to 5,715mt in April from 3,971mt in the same month last year, but decreased by 11pc from 6,446mt in the previous month.
Germany was the largest importer of copper scrap in April, more than doubling its volumes to 3,082mt from 1525mt in the same month last year. Italy imported the smallest amount of copper scrap, growing 2pc to 118mt from 116mt with the same period.
India’s copper scrap import volumes jumped by 118pc to 164mt in April from 75mt in the same month of the previous year while Slovakia’s imports of the red metal fell by 38pc from 453mt to 279mt in the same timeframe.
