Davis Index: Market Intelligence for the Global Metals and Recycled Materials Markets

Automotive production in the Czech Republic dropped by 32.6pc in the first six months this year, according to The Czech Automotive Industry Association data.

 

The association expects production to drop by 20pc in this fiscal, and revenue to decline by CZR2bn ($91mn). In H1 2020, the country produced 503,615 units. In June, production settled at 103,934 cars, reflecting a 17pc drop compared to the same month in the previous year. 

 

Skoda was the leading producer in H1 2020, with an output of 337,580 units. Hyundai produced 96,390 units at its Czech facility while the PSA-Toyota joint venture manufactured 69,645 units. 

 

The Czech economy’s overall GDP declined by about 8pc and the carmaking industry contributes around 10pc to the nation’s revenue.
