Ferrous scrap exports from the Czech Republic increased by 62pc in April to 219,859mt from 135,758mt in the same month last year, according to the country’s Customs data. However, exports decreased by 6pc in April from 233,817mt in the previous month.

 

Germany continued to be the country’s largest ferrous scrap importer, recording an 83pc increase in April to 100,831mt from 55,156mt in the same month last year. Ghana joined the Czech Republic’s list of importers in April with 900mt while Romania doubled its imports to 1,502mt during the same annual period under review. 

 

Pakistan’s import volumes grew by 631pc to 772mt in April from 106mt in April 2020. However, the country recorded the highest monthly decrease in imports of 84pc from 4,829mt in March.
