Industrial production in the Czech Republic increased by 0.5pc in December compared to the same month in 2019, according to the Czech Statistical Office (CZO). 

 

A 14.9pc growth in automotive production was the driving factor for the increase in national output in December. However, manufacture of machinery and equipment declined by 5pc during the same period. New order values increased by 11.2pc in December from a year ago, while export and domestic prices increased by 13.7pc and 1.8pc, respectively, during the same timeframe.

 

For the full year 2020, the country’s industrial production declined by 8pc over 2019 with both industrial production and machinery and equipment manufacturing falling by 12.3pc annually. The value of new orders was also 7.9pc lower compared with the previous year. Sales in both domestic and export markets saw 7pc lower prices in 2020, compared with 2019.
