Egypt’s Delta Steel Mill Company will begin the trial run of the first phase of EGP 700mn project, which was undertaken to upgrade and modernise Delta factories, according to the local media.
The first phase of the project was completed in October 2019 and added a production line of 250,000mt of the steel pellet to be used for the production of rebar. The second stage of the project is likely to be completed by June 2020, and will add an annual capacity of 250,000mt.
The project looks to increase the annual production capacity of steel billets 500,000mt, and double the production of iron castings by 10,000mt.
The factory modernising will meet the environmental norms and standards and contribute to reduce energy consumption by about 40pc.
