Turkish steelmaker Diler Demir Celik, a Marmara-based subsidiary of Diler Holding, suspended its rebar production for two weeks amid weak rebar sales and to prevent COVID-19’s spread.
Diler Demir Celik stopped its rebar rolling mill on April 23, but continues to produce crude steel and wire rods at previous levels, Davis Index learnt. The mill has a capacity to produce 1.5mn mt of crude steel per year, 1.1mn mt of rebar, and 400,000mt of wire rod.
Operations of Yazici Demir Celik, an Iskenderun-based subsidiary of Diler Holding, remain unchanged. This mill can produce 1mn mt of crude steel per year and 1.25mn mt of rebar.
