Atico Mining’s El Roble mine in Colombia produced 20.66mn lbs of copper contained in concentrates, up by 23pc from the preceding year, the company said in a statement.
The company said that it achieved the set production guidance despite the stringent COVID-19 restrictions and extremely challenging circumstances. In 2020, the company processed an average of 871mt of ore, up by 1.9pc from the previous year.
In the fourth quarter of the year ending in December 2020 (Q4 2020), the company produced 5.22mn lbs of copper contained in concentrates, down by 7pc as compared to the prior-year period.
Outlook
The company said that it will continue aggressive exploration at El Roble and La Plata properties to unlock the value of the respective land packages while working towards achieving operational guidance for 2021.
The El Roble mine is a high grade, underground copper and gold mine with a nominal processing plant capacity of 1,000mt per day.
