UAE-based Emirates Steel supplied 160,000mt of Q-class and S-class rebar material, i.e., 60pc of the total rebar required for the construction of Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation’s (ENEC) Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant, the company said in a statement.
The company produces 3.5mn mt of steel per annum and also exports its products to more than 40 countries.
It has been ENEC’s partner from the outset of the Barakah project ten years ago till the start-up of the first of its four reactors in August this year.
The company delivered its first batch of rebar products to the Barakah plant project site in 2013. The Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant is the first peaceful nuclear plant in the Arab region.
