Emirates Steel, an integrated steel plant in the Middle East has plans to commence production of Hot Rolled Coils (HRC) to cater to the local and regional requirements of high-quality flat products.
The move in line with the ‘Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030’ to increase competitiveness through diversification, flexibility, and innovation. Emirates Steel aims to contribute to UAE’s industrial sector while realizing the need for sustainable development.
Emirates Steel in the process of a comprehensive evaluation for the construction of a fully automated first-of-its-kind HRC plant in the MENA region. The new plant will take Emirates Steel’s annual production capacity over 5mn mt.
In the subsequent phases, the company also plans to raise HRC production further.
The steelmaker is known for the production of heavy and jumbo sections. After the project is put into operation, it will become the only producer of hot-rolled sheet piles in the region.
