Mexican aluminum packaging firm Envases Group has chosen a new site in Waco, Texas to set up a plant to make aluminum cans. The company plans to invest $100mn to set up the plant
According to media reports, the 450,000 sq. feet plant will be capable of producing three billion units per year and will undertake both production and distribution. Raw materials will be sourced within the US, the company indicated.
Through its new plant, Envases will add about 120 direct jobs to the local community. The company will receive $4mn in cash grants as well as have $2.8mn in property tax rebates over the next 10 years, Kris Collins from the Waco Chamber of Commerce told the media.
