Eurasian Resources Group (ERG) announced that it shipped a record freight of 618,000mt to China, which was derived from last month’s iron ore output. 

 

According to media reports, ERG credited its subsidiary, Sokolovsko-Sarbaiskoye Ore Mining, Processing (SSGPO), and TransCom, its logistics provider which offered 6,000 railwagons, with helping it achieve the record shipment.

 

In August, SSGPO produced 1.4mn mt of iron ore from its operations in Kazakhstan, 44pc of which was exported to China. ERG increased its shipments to the nation in April, as demand rose from infrastructure and construction projects, which commenced upon the China’s emergence from its COVID-19 lockdown.

 

In the first eight months of the year, SSGPO mined 3.2mn mt of iron ore, and it intends to deliver an additional 1.5mn mt to China by the end of 2020.
