The weekly Davis Index for HMS 1&2 (75:25) in the ARAG region rose by €5/mt ($6/mt) to €205/mt delivered dockside on Tuesday after active export sales.
Collection ferrous scrap prices increased in the Netherlands and Belgium as most exporters closed deals between the second half of July and early August. Turkey—where prices for European HMS 1&2 (75:25) and HMS 1&2 (80:20) reached around $273-277/mt cfr and $278-282/mt cfr, respectively—was the main buyer.
Negotiations slowed down this week as both European scrap suppliers and Turkish importers became less interested in active transactions.
The Davis Indexes for HMS 1 and for bonus scrap in the ARAG region both also rose by €5/mt ($6/mt) to €215/mt delivered dockside and at €220/mt delivered dockside, respectively, on Tuesday.
