Davis Index: Market Intelligence for the Global Metals and Recycled Materials Markets

Seasonally adjusted industrial production in the EU fell by 0.9pc in February on a monthly basis and by 1.1pc from the same month last year, according to Eurostat data. In January, the EU’s industrial production grew by 0.8pc compared to a flat rate in December. 

 

Production of capital goods dropped by 1.9pc in February compared to January, while durable consumer goods’ output declined by 1pc. Energy production slumped by 0.7pc as intermediate goods shrank by 0.6pc and non-durable goods by 0.1pc in the same period comparison.

 

Compared to February 2020, non-durable goods production fell by 3.8pc in February 2021 while capital goods dropped by 2.4pc and energy by 1.5pc. Intermediate goods and durable goods both rose by 0.5pc and 2.4pc, respectively, in February compared to a year ago.
