Industrial producer prices in the Euro area and the EU dropped by 2pc in October from the same month last year, according to Eurostat data. 

 

The fall in prices was led by a 7.6pc decline in the energy sector in the Euro area and a 7.7pc drop in the EU in October on an annual basis. During the same period, the prices for intermediate goods fell by 1.3pc and 1.1pc, respectively, in the two regions. 

 

However, the prices for non-durable consumer goods rose by 0.8pc and 0.4pc in the Euro area and EU, respectively, while durable consumer goods prices rose by 1.3pc for both regions. Capital goods prices increased by 1.2pc in the Euro area and 1pc in the EU in October on an annual basis.
