The weekly Davis Index for HMS 1&2 (75:25) in the ARAG region climbed by €1/mt ($1/mt) to €200/mt delivered dockside on Tuesday.
Most ferrous scrap exporters in the Netherlands and Belgium did not revise dockside prices early in August, considering the most recent sales to Turkey, euro revaluation against US dollar, and high freight rates, which were pegged at around $19/mt for 30,000mt-cargoes. European HMS 1&2 (80:20) was traded at $271.50-275/mt cfr Turkey late in July.
Some European suppliers are currently negotiating with Turkish mills with a minimum target of $280/mt cfr for HMS 1&2 (80:20).
The Davis Indexes for HMS 1 and for bonus scrap in the ARAG region both inched up also by €1/mt ($1/mt) to €210/mt delivered dockside and at €215/mt delivered dockside, respectively, on Tuesday.
