The European Commission has imposed definitive anti-dumping (AD) duties on hot-rolled stainless steel sheets and coils from Indonesia, China, and Taiwan after inferring that the commodities were being sold at prices lower than the market value.
EC has imposed 17.3pc of AD duty on Indonesian hot-rolled stainless steel sheets and coils, up to 19pc on those originating from China, and up to 7.5pc on producers from Taiwan.
The products subjected to the AD duty fall under customs codes 721911, 721912, 721913, 721914, 721922, 721923, 721924, 722011, and 722012. Petition for the probe was lodged by the European Steel Association (Eurofer), and the commission had initiated an investigation in August.
With the AD duties, the EU aims to remediate the damage caused to the domestic producers from Belgium, Italy, and Finland.
