The Eurasian Economic Commission (EAEC) has extended the anti-dumping duty on certain types of steel pipes imported into the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) originating in Ukraine till February 7, 2020, the commission informed in a notification.

The products subject to the anti-dumping duty are casing, tubing, as well as oil, gas, and general-purpose steel pipes with a diameter of up to 820mm inclusive and fall under HS codes ex 7304, ex 7305, and ex7306.

The anti-dumping duties imposed on the said products range between 18.9pc and 37.8pc, depending on the type of pipes and manufacturers.

The safeguard measure was imposed on June 22, 2011, and was expected to expire on June 1, 2021, however, the EEC received an application to conduct a repeated anti-dumping probe.

The EAEU regulatory framework provides for the extension of the application period of the current anti-dumping measure for the period of the re-investigation, which must be completed within 12 months from the date of its commencement.

The Eurasian Economic Union includes Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, and the Russian Federation.
