The Eurasian Economic Commission (EAEC) has imposed an anti-dumping (AD) duty on welded stainless steel (SS) pipes and profiles imported into the Eurasian Economic Union originating from China, the commission informed in a statement released on February 9, 2021.

 

The commission has imposed an AD duty for five years with the rate ranging between 14.62pc and 17.28pc, depending on the manufacturer. The duty will be enforced after 30 calendar days from the date of its official publication.

 

The duty will apply to metal products corresponding to codes 7306402009, 7306408001, 7306408008, 7306611009, and 7306691009.

The association informed that the said products are used for the production of sanitary ware and heat exchangers, in the automotive industry, the food industry, the petrochemical and nuclear industries, and for the production of furniture and in construction of infrastructure projects.

 

The anti-dumping investigation against welded pipes and profiles from China was launched on December 24, 2019, after the consideration of an application filed by TMK-Inox, Marchegalia RU, Baltinox, and supported by Techno Trade LLC.

 

The commission said that it took action after investigation. With the obtained information, it concluded on the presence of dumped imports of the said products from China and material damage to the economy of the member states and domestic companies.

 

The Eurasian Economic Union includes Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, and the Russian Federation.
