Europe’s industrial production grew by 10.9pc in the Euro area and by 11pc in the EU in March compared to the prior-year month, according to Eurostat.
Industrial production in the Euro area inched up by 0.1pc and rose by 0.6pc in the EU in March compared to February.
In the Euro area, production of durable consumer goods increased by 34.4pc, capital goods grew by 16.1pc, intermediate goods rose by 13.3pc, and non-durable consumer goods increased by 0.7pc in March on an annual basis.
On a monthly basis the production of non-durable consumer goods in the Euro area increased by 1.9pc, intermediate goods rose by 0.6pc while production of capital goods and durable consumer goods dropped by 1pc and 1.2pc, respectively, Eurostat reported.
In the EU, production of durable consumer goods climbed by 34.4pc, capital goods by 15.9pc, intermediate goods by 13.4pc and non-durable consumer goods by 1.1pc in March compared to the same month last year.
Production of non-durable consumer goods increased by 2pc, and intermediate goods by 1.1pc, while production of durable consumer goods and capital goods declined by 0.3pc and 0.4pc, respectively, in the EU in March from the previous month, according to Eurostat.
