British steelmaker Fastline Steel has signed an integrated manufacturing agreement with Corbetts Galvanizers for 15,000mt of perimeter steel fencing every year for the next five years.
Corbett will galvanize the steel produced by Fastline at the former’s plant in Telford, England, according to media reports. The two companies had first signed a multi-million-Pound deal in March where Fastline Steel would only use the Telford plant for steel production. The partnership now has advanced to a strategic relationship with increased capacities and lead times.
The galvanizer has invested over £500,000 to enhance the plant’s infrastructure so that the steel can be galvanized on site, according to Sophie Williams, finance director, and general manager. The company currently galvanizes 100mt of steel palisade, rigid mesh, chain link, weld mesh, and fabricated railing systems per week for Fastline. Corbett plans to increase its capacity in the future.
