Chinese vehicle manufacturer FAW Group’s auto sales in February 2021 stood at 231,881 units, up by 379.2pc from the same month in 2020, according to local media reports citing a statement by the company. The company’s auto production in February surged to 225,921 units during the same month.
FAW VW, the company’s joint venture with Volkswagen, remained the best-selling brand, selling over 120,000 units in February, while FAW Toyota’s sales stood at 50,208 units, up by 655.8pc as compared to the same month in the prior year.
In February, the company’s luxury brand Hongqi’s vehicle sales grew by 246.7pc to 13,009 units from the same month in the previous year, while its output stood at 13,616 units, up by 492pc from Feb 2020.
In the first two months of the year (Jan-Feb, 2021), Hongqi’s auto sales rose by 178pc to 45,535 units, while the other two self-owned brands – Besturn and Jiefang- both registered three-digit growth rates in the same period.
