China-based auto company FAW-Volkswagen’s (FAW-VW) total auto production in 2020 stood at 2.07mn units, making it the only company to surpass the 2mn mark in China this year, according to media reports.
The company is a joint venture between Volkswagen and Chinese car manufacturer FAW Group.
The company said that the joint venture built a digital production and logistics system that helped in boosting production efficiency, lower manufacturing costs, and made sure the supply chain ran accurately.
The company plans to roll out at least four new Volkswagen-branded models that include the ID.4 CROZZ, the B SMV premium full-sized SUV, the larger version of the ID.4 code-named VW316/7, and the mid-cycle refresh of the T-ROC.
FAW-VW has five manufacturing plants in China located at Changchun, Qingdao, Chengdu, Tianjin, and Foshan.
