Ukraine-based Swiss company Ferrexpo Group’s iron ore pellet production in the first two months of the year (Jan-Feb, 2021) stood at 1.86mn mt, down by 3.4pc compared to the prior-year period, according to local media reports. This includes 812,000mt of iron ore pellets in February 2021.
In the first half of the year (H1 2021), the company has planned an upgradation of its processing facility which is expected to increase its iron ore pellet production by 0.5mn mt-1mn mt per annum.
Therefore, it is projecting an increase in iron ore pellet production in H2 2021.
In 2020, the company’s iron ore pellet output grew by 7pc to 11.218mn mt from 2019, while production of iron ore concentrate rose by 5.9pc to 14mn mt as compared to the previous year.
Ferrexpo is a manufacturers and exporters of iron ore products. The company’s plants are located in Poltava and Eristovsky GOKs.
