Ford Motor said it will temporarily halt its Kansas City assembly plant due to a semiconductor-related part shortage, according to reports.

The Kansas City assembly plant builds the automaker’s bestselling F-159 pickup truck. The company has said, the shortage is a result of the COVID-19 pandemic in Malaysia.

The week-long shutdown will begin on Aug 23 and the company will also reduce the shift on Saturday.
