Ford announced that its total vehicles sales in the third quarter of the year declined by 4.9pc from a year earlier, but increased by 27.2pc from Q2 2020.
Sales in the company’s car segment declined by 37.5pc to 48,242 units in Q3 2020 from 77,231 sales during the same quarter last year. Its SUV segment, however, fell marginally by 0.7pc to 191,803 unit sales in the third quarter of the year from 193,100 units in Q3 2019.
Ford’s truck segment, on the other hand, rose by 0.6pc to 311,751 unit sales last quarter from 309,920 unit sales in Q3 2019.
Ford also announced that Jim Farley replaced Jim Hackett as the company’s chief executive officer on Oct 1, while John Lawyer has been appointed the company’s new chief financial officer.
