France’s industrial production in February this year dropped by 6.6pc from February last year while it declined by 4.7pc from January this year, according to The National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE).
Under this, the production in the manufacturing industry fell by 7.1pc in February annually while it declined by 4.6pc from the previous month.
Production of metallurgy and metal products saw a 6pc fall in February from the same month last year and it dropped by 3.5pc from January this year. Production of machinery and equipment fell by 4.8pc in February from the same month in 2020, while it decreased by 5.4pc from January this year.
Production of automotive in February declined by 13.5pc from February last year while it dropped by 8.3pc from the first month of the year. INSEE reported that the production of other transport equipment was also down by 33.6pc in February from February 2020, while it fell by 13.8pc from January 2021.
The country’s construction sector also saw a 4.7pc drop in February annually while building construction declined by 6pc from the previous month, INSEE reported.
