China’s Fuzhou city plans to build a 3.66mn mt annual capacity high-end hot-rolled steel coil project under capacity replacement scheme, according to China Metallurgical News.

 

Fujian province government approved the capacity replacement plan of Dadonghai Industrial Group and Fujian Yixin Iron and Steel plant according to which Dadonghai plant will dismantle two existing blast furnaces with iron making capacity of 1.1mn mt, three converters with 2.2mn mt of steelmaking capacity. The company will set up two new converters with 4.13mn mt iron-making capacity and 1.53mn mt steelmaking capacity. The overall annual production capacity of Dadonghai plant is 5.23mn mt of iron and 3.73mn mt of steel.

 

The company will build four refining furnaces through the capacity reduction and replacement plan. After completion of this project, Dadonghai group will produce 3.66mn mt of hot-rolled steel coils, annually.
