Chinese auto manufacturer GAC Group’s cumulative auto output in January 2021 grew by 39pc to 191,831 units from the prior year, according to media reports.

The company’s total sales in January stood at 217,333 units, up by 23.29pc from the prior-year period.
In January, the company’s passenger vehicles (PV) sales rose by 23.26pc to 217,100 units from the same month in 2020. The company’s PV segment included sedans, SUVs, and MPVs. In January 2021, the company’s sedan and SUV sales grew by 10.98pc and 29.85pc to 93,290 units and 108,722 units, respectively, while MPV sales increased by 80.76pc to 15,088 units from January 2020.

The company’s wholly-owned subsidiary GAC Motor’s sales in January stood at 34,400 units, up by 5.07pc from the previous year, surpassing 30,000 units for the fifth month in a row.
The sales of the Trumpchi M8 and the Trumpchi M6 stood at 9,455 units, up by 105.1pc from the previous year.
The company’s top-selling brand in January was GAC Toyota, selling 89,800 units, while the highest growth was achieved by the GAC Aion brand with sales up by 150.02pc to 7,373 units from the same month in the previous year.
