Germany’s crude steel output fell by 10pc in 2020 to 35.7mn mt against 2019 while in December alone, the crude steel production rose by 10.7pc to 3.1mn mt compared to December 2019, according to German Steel Federation (WV Stahl).
The country’s oxygen steel production declined by 13pc to 24.1mn mt last year compared to 2019 while it rose by 10.3pc to 2.38mn mt last month from December 2019. Electrical steel output in 2020 fell by 3.1pc to 11.5mn mt from 2019 and grew by 12pc to 750,000mt in December 2020 from a year ago, WV Stahl reported.
German pig iron output was down by 12pc last year to 22.4mn mt from 2019 while it increased by 9.8pc to 2.22mn mt in December last year over the same month in 2019. Hot rolled steel production fell by 9.8pc to 30.9mn mt in 2020 from 2019 while it grew by 15.7pc in December 2020 on an annual basis to 2.6mn mt.
