Germany’s car production is estimated to grow by 3pc in 2021 instead of 13pc forecasted earlier by the country’s automobile manufacturers’ association, VDA.
The VDA now expects Germany to produce 400,000 fewer cars at 3.6 million units this year, driven by persisting issues with procuring auto parts, especially semiconductor chips, according to its mid-year market update to the media on Monday.
Germany’s car output for H1 2021 grew by 16pc to 1.73 million units but declined by 19pc in June compared to the same month last year.
New car registrations climbed by 15pc to 1.37 million units from January to June 2021.
