Germany’s copper scrap exports dropped by 20.3pc in Feb 20, from a year ago on a 63.3pc drop in demand from China as the country was shut due to the spread of COVID-19, along with being restricted by scrap import quotas. Copper scrap exports from Spain to China also dropped by 48.8pc during this time. Exports of copper scrap to India and Pakistan, however, increased on rise in demand from secondary alloy makers selling semi-finished copper products to China. Aluminium scrap exports remained inside of Europe, with marginal change in volume and destination.
