Germany’s total industrial production in June rose by 11.7pc from June last year and increased by 8.9pc from May 2020 according to Germany’s Federal Statistics Office (Destatis). 

 

The country’s industrial production excluding the energy and construction industries jumped up by 11.1pc in June with intermediate goods, consumer goods, and capital production rising by 5pc, 7.3pc, and 18.3pc, respectively, from May 2020. Production in Germany’s construction industry rose by 1.4pc in June from the previous month while the automotive industry surged by 54.7pc, Destatis reported.

 

Manufacturing also rose in France in June compared with May 2020 but saw a steep decline when compared with the same month last year. France’s National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE) noted a 12.5pc drop in manufacturing in June compared to the same month last year even though it rose by 14.4pc compared to the previous month. 

 

France’s manufacturing in Q2 2020 witnessed a 25.3pc decline from Q2 2019 and decreased by 18.9pc from Q1 2020. 

 

In June, French automotive production increased by 74.1pc, while other transportation equipment output rose by 23.1pc from May. Metallurgy and metal products also witnessed a 16.9pc increase while the construction industry production jumped by 12pc in June compared to the previous month INSEE reported.
