Construction orders in Germany increased by 4.1pc in April compared to the same month last year and by 9.8pc from the previous month according to the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis).

 

Destatis also reported that prices for residential homes in Germany increased by 9.4pc in Q1 2021 compared to the same quarter last year and were up by 1.5pc from Q4 2020. 

 

The prices of homes in the cities increased by 11.3pc.  The seven largest cities in the country including Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Cologne, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, and Dusseldorf saw an 11.1pc growth in home prices in the first quarter of the year compared to the same quarter last year. Prices for single-family units and two-family units also increased by 11.3pc, Destatis reported.
