Germany’s total raw materials, semi-finished and finished goods imports dropped by 5.8pc to 622mn mt last year compared to 2019, according to the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis).
The country’s total materials exports fell by 5.6pc to 405mn mt in 2020 as compared to the year prior, Destatis reported.
This drop in import and export was mainly a reflection of a decline in the trade of raw materials like ores and semi-finished products like pig-iron.
Germany’s import and export of raw material dropped by 6pc, semi-finished product by 6.3pc and finished product by 7.1pc, respectively in 2020 from the year prior.
